FAQ
Q: Your website contains a great deal of important material related to aging. How do you intend to keep the content fresh and up-to-date?
A: The content of our website will be updated periodically to ensure that all material is current and accurate. New information is published frequently regarding Healthy Aging, Retirement Transitioning and Finding Purpose. We will scan external materials and will incorporate the most important findings into our website. However, our Blog is scheduled to be distributed on a biweekly basis, along with a quarterly newsletter and that’s where you will find the most current information.
Q: You highlight some very impressive Thought Leaders as part of your Purposeful-Aging.org initiative. How are these individuals involved?
A: Each of the 10 Thought Leaders noted on this site has agreed to serve as an “advisor” or contributor to the content of this initiative. Each represents his/her own area of expertise—community engagement, health, relationship building, longevity, women’s concerns, etc. As these individuals research and publish findings in their own blogs, publications or as keynote speakers, we will curate the material and publish it along with relevant links.
Q: How do I get on your mailing list to receive your blog and/or newsletters on a regular basis?
A: Please sign up for our blog and newsletter in the “contact us” section of this site.
Q: I would like to know more about your community service or social impact projects. How do I get involved?
A: As our work progresses, we will announce various infinity groups which emanate from our classes/workshops/blog and newsletters, making it possible to join projects most suited for your interests and skills. Check back periodically or write to us at Purposeful-Aging.org to learn of new and on-going Community Service efforts. We would love to engage you. You may also want to consider starting a project of your own and if you need us to highlight that endeavor, we certainly can do so.
Q: What services do you provide?
A: Individual coaching; group facilitation; corporate program development and encore education curriculum consulting.
Q: Can I join a Wisdom Group if I am out of town?
A: Currently we run a Wisdom Group for women who graduated from the University of Chicago Leadership and Society Initiative (LSI) and one that meets in person monthly at the University of Denver. If there is enough interest in an on-line Wisdom Group for individuals across or outside of the country, we can consider creating one.
Q: Do you intend to offer any of your courses and workshops, such as those sponsored by the University of Denver, on-line or outside of Colorado?
A: We believe strongly that an in-person course delivery model is far more effective in building relationships than an on-line model, we are limiting our courses to those who can physically attend. If the demand reaches a level where it makes sense to offer both on-line and in-person workshops, we will consider doing so.
Q: Do you emphasize or teach financial planning as part of your purposeful aging content and courses?
A: While we touch on the subject of finances (both fraud and financial planning) in our courses, we do not include a major component in our content delivery. We believe that each individual’s situation is different, and deserves the focus of a professional who has this as a core expertise.
